NW Dispute Resolution Conference
Matt Fairbank, Sageland Mediation and Facilitation Service Principal Consultant, recently attended the Northwest Dispute Resolution Conference in Seattle. “The annual conference has been a great way to keep abreast of the latest thinking in the conflict resolution field. Highlights for me this year included hearing neuroscientist and great speaker, John Medina, talk about what it takes for mediators to assist disputing parties to shift their perspective to one that makes collaborative negotiation possible and Nina Meierding speak about “How Reality is Experienced, Shaped and Changed” and what we as mediators can do when disputants realities are so different from each other. Another presentation on evaluating mediation outcomes and client satisfaction gave me some great ideas to use at Sageland.”
